Ooty

Ooty was originally know as Ootacamund which is now obscure. Ooty is situated in the Nilgiri hills, also known as The Blue Mountains. It is unknown whether this name comes from the blue smoky haze given off by the eucalyputus trees that cover the area, or because of the kurunji flower, which blooms every twelve years giving the slopes a bluish tinge. Ooty served as the summer capital of the Madras Presidency and other small kingdoms, much visited by British during the colonial days, and as today, a popular summer and weekend resort. Ooty draws a large number of tourists every year. Lofty mountains, great lakes, dense forests, sprawling grasslands, miles of tea gardens and eucalyptus trees greet the visitors en route to Ooty. The hill station itself is a land of picturesque picnic spots.

Kerala Temples

A travel tour to Kerala temple zones would enable a tourist to witness the spectacle of Kerala temples of the order of Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Guruvayoor Temple, Thirunavaya and Ettumanoor in Kottayam, which are some of the architectural beauties and marvels to be explored and appreciated by the amateur connoisseurs out on a Kerala temple jaunt. The architectural style of Kerala is one clever combination of the domestic old Dravidian pattern, which is stereotypically south Indian in contour, and the foreign influences of the order of the Asia Pacific style and the Pacific Rim pattern, too form an intrinsically important part of the complete style of the architecture. Places to visit in this tour are Cochin, Guruvayoor, Vaikom, Allappuzha, Trivendrum, Kanyakumari.
